At 3.8% fat, the Anco Premium Beef Pâté is the leanest product in the Anco range — lean enough to be appropriate for dogs with pancreatitis, those on strict fat-controlled diets, or dogs where veterinary advice has specified low-fat treats. Made from beef meat, liver, and heart with no artificial additives, it provides a nutritionally dense beef-based treat without the fat content typically associated with beef products. Grain free, chicken free, suitable from 8 weeks. Same versatile format as the rest of the range: slice, dice, spread, stuff, or use to disguise tablets.

  • Ultra-low fat at 3.8%: One of the leanest natural dog treats available. This is a meaningful figure for dogs where fat intake is clinically managed — pancreatitis, obesity, exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, or any condition requiring a restricted-fat diet.
  • Beef meat, liver, and heart: Beef Meat 79%, Beef Liver 10%, Beef Heart 10% with 1% vitamins and minerals. Muscle meat provides the protein base; liver adds vitamin A and B vitamins; heart contributes CoQ10 and taurine.
  • Versatile format: Holds its shape for training treat cutting and is soft enough for lick mats, Kong filling, enrichment toys, and tablet disguising. The 400g roll provides good volume for regular training use.
  • Chicken free: Suitable for dogs that require a chicken-free diet. Note that beef is a common allergen for some dogs — not suitable for dogs with a known beef sensitivity.
  • Mix with other flavours: Available alongside Lamb, Chicken, Duck, and Turkey as part of the Anco Pâté Mix & Match bundle at Hairy Dogs.

Common questions

Is 3.8% fat genuinely low enough for a dog with pancreatitis?
3.8% fat on a dry matter basis is genuinely low for a meat-based treat. Most veterinary guidance for pancreatitis management suggests keeping dietary fat below 10% of total caloric intake, and at 3.8% this pâté falls well within that threshold as a treat component. That said, fat tolerance varies considerably between individual dogs — always follow your vet's specific guidance and introduce carefully if your dog is in recovery.
How do I use this for training?
Slice a section from the roll and cut into small, consistent pieces — the pâté holds together without crumbling, making it easy to handle in a treat bag or pocket. For low-fat training, small pea-sized pieces keep the treat value high while keeping the overall fat contribution low across a full training session.
My dog is sensitive to beef — is this suitable?
No — the product is 100% beef-derived. Beef is one of the more common canine food allergens, so this is not appropriate for dogs with a known or suspected beef sensitivity. Consider the Lamb, Chicken, Duck, Turkey, or Goat pâtés as alternatives.
How long does it keep once opened?
Refrigerate immediately once opened and use within 3 days. Wrap the cut end or store in an airtight container. A 400g roll typically covers one to two weeks of training sessions when sliced as needed and refrigerated between uses.
Can I use this to fill a Kong or enrichment toy?
Yes — press slices into a Kong-style toy for immediate use, or freeze for a longer session. Particularly useful for dogs on fat-restricted diets where most standard Kong fillings are too high in fat to be appropriate.
