The Anco Premium Chicken Pâté is made from chicken meat, liver, and heart with a fat content of just 9.5% — one of the leaner options in the pâté range and a practical choice for dogs managing weight, post-pancreatitis recovery, or any condition where fat intake needs to be kept low. The soft-but-firm texture gives the same versatility as the rest of the range: slice for training treats, spread on lick mats, stuff into enrichment toys, or use to disguise tablets. Suitable from 8 weeks, grain free.

  • Low fat at 9.5%: A meaningful fat content for dogs where dietary fat needs to be monitored. Suitable for dogs managing weight, recovering from pancreatitis, or where a vet has advised a reduced-fat diet. Lower fat than many standard training treats.
  • Chicken meat, liver, and heart: The three-cut composition provides muscle protein from the meat alongside the distinct nutritional contributions of liver (B vitamins, vitamin A, iron) and heart (CoQ10, taurine). All from a single protein source.
  • Versatile format: Holds its shape when sliced or diced for training treats, and soft enough to spread on lick mats, press into Kong-style toys, or use as tablet coating. The same 400g roll covers multiple uses.
  • No additives or preservatives: Chicken Meat 74%, Chicken Liver 15%, Chicken Heart 10%, Vitamins & Minerals 1%. Nothing artificial.
  • Mix with other flavours: Available alongside Lamb, Beef, Duck, and Turkey as part of the Anco Pâté Mix & Match bundle at Hairy Dogs.

Common questions

Is this suitable for dogs with pancreatitis?
At 9.5% fat, this is a lower-fat treat than many commercially available training treats. Dogs recovering from or managing pancreatitis are typically advised to keep fat intake low, and this pâté can be appropriate within that context as an occasional treat. Always follow your vet's specific dietary guidance for your dog's condition — fat tolerance varies significantly between individual dogs with pancreatitis.
How do I use this for training?
Slice a section from the roll and cut into small, consistent pieces — it holds together without crumbling, making it easy to manage in a treat bag or pocket. Pea-sized pieces work well for high-repetition training. The chicken scent is motivating for most dogs without being as overpowering as some stronger-smelling proteins like tripe or lamb.
How is this different from standard wet dog food?
Standard wet food is designed as a meal and is typically too soft to handle as treats. This pâté has a firmer texture — it holds its shape when sliced or diced, making it practical for training and enrichment use. It is a complementary treat, not a meal replacement.
How long does it keep once opened?
Refrigerate immediately once opened and use within 3 days. Wrap the cut end or store in an airtight container. For regular training use, a 400g roll typically covers one to two weeks of sessions — slice off what you need and refrigerate the remainder.
Can I use this to fill a Kong or enrichment toy?
Yes — press slices into a Kong-style toy for immediate use, or freeze the filled toy to extend the enrichment session. Particularly useful for dogs on low-fat diets where many other Kong fillings such as peanut butter or soft cheese are not appropriate.
