A fine-toothed grooming comb for checking your dog over and combing out fleas, flea eggs and flea dirt. Part of Ancol's Ergo range, it has closely-spaced stainless steel teeth with rounded tips and a comfortable, ergonomic handle — a simple, chemical-free addition to your dog's grooming routine.
- Fine stainless steel teeth — closely spaced to catch fleas, eggs and flea dirt as you comb.
- Rounded tooth tips — for a comfortable comb-through, even on sensitive dogs.
- Suits all coat types — works through long, short or curly coats once they're tangle-free.
- Ergonomic handle — easy to hold and control during grooming.
- Chemical-free — a mechanical grooming tool, with no chemicals involved.
How to use
- Make sure the coat is free of tangles and mats first.
- Comb in the direction of fur growth, working over the whole body.
- Pay extra attention to the neck, base of the tail and behind the ears, where fleas tend to gather.
- Wipe the comb onto damp white tissue as you go — reddish-brown specks that smear red are flea dirt, a sign of fleas.
- Rinse or wipe the comb clean between strokes.
Good to know
A flea comb lets you check for and physically remove fleas, eggs and flea dirt, but it isn't a flea treatment or preventative. If you find fleas, treat your dog with a suitable vet-recommended flea product and treat their bedding and home as well.

Common questions
Does it kill fleas?
No — it's a comb, not a treatment. It physically removes fleas, eggs and flea dirt as you groom and helps you spot fleas early, but you'll need a vet-recommended flea treatment to deal with fleas on your dog and around the home.
Which coat types does it suit?
All coat types — long, short or curly — once the coat is tangle-free. The fine teeth work best on a detangled coat, so brush out any mats first.
How do I check for fleas with it?
Comb through the coat, then wipe the comb onto damp white tissue. Reddish-brown specks that smear red are flea dirt (digested blood) — a telltale sign of fleas even if you can't see the fleas themselves.
How do I clean it?
Wipe or rinse it between strokes during use, then wash after grooming and dry it before storing to keep the steel teeth in good condition.
