When the temperature climbs, the Ice Paws Cooling Mat gives your dog a cool, comfortable place to settle — no freezer, no power and no water needed. A pressure-activated gel core draws heat away the moment your dog lies down, lowering their body temperature by up to 7°C for several hours at a time. Ideal for hot afternoons at home, in the crate, in the car or out in the garden.

How it works

The mat is filled with a Phase Change Material (PCM) cooling gel. Unlike a water mat, it reacts to your dog's body heat and weight, absorbing warmth to give a steady cooling effect. Once your dog moves off, it recharges at cool-room temperature, ready for next time — no freezing or electricity required.

Materials and care

Wipe clean with a damp cloth; do not machine wash or tumble dry. Store flat in a cool place out of direct sunlight. The mat is made for resting on, not chewing — supervise your dog and discontinue use if the cover becomes punctured, scratched or damaged.

Common questions

Do I need to put it in the freezer?
No. The gel is self-charging — it cools through your dog's body heat and recharges in a cool, shaded spot. You can rest it somewhere cool to refresh it a little faster, but freezing isn't needed and isn't recommended.
How long does the cooling last?
Several hours of active use before it needs a short break to recharge. Keeping it out of direct sun makes the cooling effect last noticeably longer.
Which size should I choose?
Small (45 × 60cm) suits puppies, smaller breeds and crates; Large (60 × 90cm) suits medium and large dogs or sits nicely on top of a dog bed. Choose a size your dog can stretch out on comfortably.
Is the gel safe?
The gel is sealed inside a tough, waterproof cover and the mat is designed for resting on, not chewing. Supervise your dog, and if the cover is ever punctured, take the mat away and discontinue use.
Can I use it in the car or crate?
Yes. It's flat, waterproof and wipe-clean, so it works well on a car seat, in a crate or rolled into a travel bag for days out.
