A beautifully made leather collar for sighthounds, from Ancol's Timberwolf range. Crafted in Walsall — the UK's historic leather capital — from top-grain European bridle leather, it's strong yet supple, softening with wear while staying sturdy. Both edges are stitched with bonded thread for strength, and over time the leather develops a natural patina that's unique to your dog. Sized for whippets and greyhounds, in a choice of colours.

  • Top-grain bridle leather — strong, supple and long-wearing.
  • Handcrafted in Walsall — the UK's traditional home of fine leatherwork.
  • Double-stitched with bonded thread for added strength.
  • Two sizes — 30–34cm (whippet) and 34–43cm (greyhound).
  • Choice of colours — Sable, Blue, Mustard, Raspberry, Green and Light Grey.
  • Develops a natural patina with wear.

Size guide

Measure your dog's neck and choose the size so the collar sits comfortably with room for a two-finger check.

Size Neck Typical breed
Whippet 30–34cm Whippet, small lurcher
Greyhound 34–43cm Greyhound, larger lurcher

Fit & care

Check the fit with the two-finger rule — you should be able to slip two fingers between the collar and your dog's neck. No collar is escape-proof, so check the fit regularly (slim-necked sighthounds can back out of a collar), and inspect the leather, stitching and buckle for wear from time to time, replacing the collar if anything looks worn. Keep leather away from prolonged soaking; wipe clean and let it dry naturally, and an occasional leather conditioner will keep it supple.

Common questions

Which size do I need?
Measure your dog's neck: 30–34cm is the whippet size, 34–43cm the greyhound size. Allow room for a two-finger check.
How do I look after the leather?
Wipe clean rather than soaking, let it dry naturally, and use a little leather conditioner now and then to keep it supple. It'll develop a natural patina with wear.
My dog can slip his collar — any tips?
Slim-necked sighthounds can back out of a collar, so check the two-finger fit, supervise, and consider a properly fitted harness or house line for extra security on walks.
