Size

Stay on top of moulting with the Ancol Ergo Shedmaster. Its fine stainless-steel teeth reach into the coat to lift out loose, dead undercoat hair — the hair that would otherwise end up on your floors and furniture — while the comfortable, ergonomic handle makes the job easier on your hand. Ideal for double-coated and heavy-shedding breeds.

  • Fine stainless-steel teeth — reach the undercoat to lift out loose, dead hair.
  • Reduces moulting around the home — removes hair before it drops onto floors and furniture.
  • Comfort-grip handle — easier on your hand during longer sessions.
  • Two sizes — Small and Large, to suit your dog.
  • Great for double coats — Labradors, Huskies, Collies, Shepherds and other heavy shedders.

How to use

Use on a dry, brushed-out coat (not on wet or matted fur). Work gently in the direction the coat grows, with a light touch — let the teeth do the work rather than pressing down. Short, regular sessions during moulting season work best.

Safety & care

A de-shedding tool is for removing loose undercoat, not for cutting through mats — don't force it through knots or matted fur (tease those out first, or use a mat splitter). Go gently and don't overdo it on any one area or on sensitive skin, as too much pressure or repeated passes over the same spot can cause irritation. Always supervise, keep sessions calm and short for dogs new to grooming, and stop if you see any redness. Keep fresh water available.

Common questions

Small or Large?
The Small suits smaller dogs and finer coats; the Large covers more ground on bigger or very fluffy, double-coated dogs.
How often should I use it?
A few times a week during heavy moulting, and less the rest of the year. Little and often works better than long, hard sessions.
Can I use it on matted fur?
No — work mats out first (or use a mat splitter). A de-shedder is for lifting loose undercoat, not for cutting through knots.
My dog has sensitive skin — is it okay?
Use a light touch and don't go over the same area repeatedly. Pressing too hard or overusing any de-shedding tool can irritate the skin, so go gently and stop if you notice redness.
