A small plush comforter toy from Ancol's Small Bite range, which is built specifically for small breeds and puppies rather than being a scaled-down version of a big-dog toy. 19cm, with textured rubbery nubs, a squeaker, and several different fabrics to investigate.

Safety

This is a cuddling and gentle play toy and is not indestructible. Supervise your puppy with it, and take it away as soon as the fabric starts to give — stuffing and squeakers are a swallowing risk, and puppies are exactly the age group most likely to try. It isn't a substitute for a proper chew toy if your puppy is teething and wants to bite down on something hard.

Common questions

Is this a teething toy?
Not really. It has textured rubbery nubs alongside the fabric, which puppies enjoy mouthing, but it's a soft comforter at heart and won't stand up to serious chewing. A teething puppy who wants to bite down hard needs something purpose-built for it — keep this one for cuddling and carrying.
Will it help a new puppy settle at night?
A lot of owners use a soft toy this way, and fabric holding the smell of home is part of why. We'd only add that anything left in a crate unsupervised overnight carries a risk if your puppy chews it apart — so judge it on how destructive yours is, and check the toy over regularly.
Does the design matter to the dog?
Not remotely — all three are the same size, the same build and the same squeaker, so pick whichever you like the look of. Dogs choose favourites on smell and texture rather than whether it's a bunny.
