Size & Colour

Calmer, more controlled walks for you and your dog. The Miro & Makauri Adventurer is a dual-clip training harness with a front chest D-ring — which helps gently redirect a dog that pulls — and a back D-ring for relaxed everyday walking. With five adjustment points, soft neoprene padding and reflective stitching, it's built for comfort and a secure, customised fit.

  • Front & back D-rings — front clip to help discourage pulling, back clip for everyday walks.
  • 5 adjustment points — dial in the neck, chest and body fit.
  • Soft neoprene padding — helps prevent rubbing for comfort.
  • Quick-release buckles — easy on and off.
  • Reflective stitching — added visibility on darker walks.
  • Durable webbing & hardware with a water-resistant chest plate.
  • Sizes S–L, in black or red.

About the no-pull front clip

Clipping the lead to the front chest ring means that when your dog pulls, they're gently turned back towards you rather than being able to power straight ahead — which takes the momentum out of pulling. It's a training aid that works best alongside reward-based training, not an instant fix, and many people use the front and back clips together with a double-ended lead for the most control.

Size guide

Measure your dog's neck and chest (girth) and choose the size their measurements fall within. If they're between sizes or still growing, size up and adjust.

Size Neck Chest
Small 33–52cm 42–54cm
Medium 40–62cm 54–75cm
Large 47–72cm 70–86cm

Fit & safety

A good fit is what keeps a harness safe. It should be snug but not tight — you should be able to slide two fingers under the straps. Too loose and a determined dog can back out of it, so check the fit each time, and re-check as puppies grow. Inspect the webbing, stitching, buckles and clips regularly and replace the harness if anything is worn or damaged — no harness is fully escape-proof or unbreakable. Take extra care near roads and traffic, and introduce a new harness gradually with treats so your dog is happy to wear it.

From Miro & Makauri, stocked at Hairy Dogs. Pair with a double-ended training lead to use both clips at once.

Common questions

How do I choose a size?
Measure your dog's neck and chest girth and match them to the size guide. Between sizes or still growing? Size up and use the adjusters.
Will it stop my dog pulling?
It's a training aid, not a magic fix. The front clip helps by turning a pulling dog back towards you, which takes the momentum out of pulling — it works best alongside reward-based training.
Front clip or back clip?
Use the front for training and extra steering, and the back for relaxed walks once your dog walks nicely. A double-ended lead lets you use both at once.
Can my dog escape it?
Not if it's fitted correctly — snug enough that only two fingers fit under the straps. Check the fit each time, especially with determined or nervous dogs, and re-check as puppies grow.
