How to use

1. Wait until your dog is calm and settled.
2. Gently hold the paw and position the blade over the very tip of the nail.
3. Trim only a small amount at a time, staying well clear of the quick (the pink, sensitive part inside the nail).
4. On dark nails, trim tiny slivers and check the cut surface as you go.

Safety

Take care to avoid the quick — the sensitive, blood-supplied part of the nail — as cutting it is painful and will bleed; trimming only small amounts at a time is the safest way to avoid it. If you're unsure, a groomer or vet nurse can show you how or do it for you. Keep the clippers clean and out of reach of children, and replace them if the blades become blunt or damaged.
