Walk two dogs on a single lead, without the tangle. The Ancol Nylon Coupler splits one lead into two, so both dogs stay close and under control while you hold just one lead. Made from strong, weather-resistant nylon with metal fittings, it clips to your favourite lead via a large O-ring, with a sturdy trigger hook for each dog's collar or harness.

  • Two dogs, one lead — keeps both dogs together and tangle-free.
  • Strong, weather-resistant nylon — with metal trigger hooks and O-ring.
  • Large O-ring — quick and easy to attach to your lead.
  • 30cm arms — keeps your dogs close without restricting comfortable movement.
  • For two dogs up to 50kg each (max combined 100kg).

How to use & safety

Clip the coupler's O-ring to your lead, then clip each trigger hook to a dog's collar or harness, and check every clip is secure before setting off. A coupler works best with two dogs that are happy to walk close together — it's less suited to dogs that pull hard in opposite directions, or that don't yet walk calmly side by side. As with any lead or coupler, no fitting is unbreakable, so check the webbing and hooks regularly for wear and replace if damaged. Take extra care near roads and traffic.

Prefer a bit of give when they pull? See our shock-absorbing Ancol Bungee Coupler. Ancol is an established British pet brand, stocked at Hairy Dogs.

Common questions

How many dogs is it for?
Two — it connects two dogs to a single lead.
What size dogs does it suit?
Two dogs of up to 50kg each (100kg combined). It works best when both dogs are happy to walk close together.
Will it stop the leads tangling?
Largely, yes — one short coupler removes the crossed-lead tangle you get juggling two separate leads. Dogs that constantly weave around each other can still twist it, so a little side-by-side training helps.
Collar or harness?
Either — clip each trigger hook to your dog's collar or harness. Check the clips are secure before you set off, and take care near roads.
