Denzel's Easter Chocolate Buttons are soft-baked, bite-sized reward treats made with carob and peanut butter — a seasonal treat format designed around the Easter gifting moment but practical enough to use as everyday reward treats year-round. At 90g per bag, they're a convenient pack size for training sessions, enrichment toppers, or simply as an occasional treat with a seasonal character.

Made in the UK by Denzel's. Grain-free, vegan, chicken-free. No artificial additives.

  • Carob — the safe chocolate alternative: The "chocolate" appearance and flavour in these treats comes entirely from carob, not cocoa. Chocolate is toxic to dogs due to theobromine and caffeine; carob contains neither. Carob is derived from the carob tree pod and is naturally sweet, with a mild chocolatey flavour that dogs respond well to. These treats are completely safe despite their chocolate-button appearance.
  • Peanut butter at 20%: Peanut butter is one of the most reliably palatable ingredients for dogs. At 20% of the recipe it's a meaningful flavour component rather than a token inclusion — the combination of carob and peanut butter produces a treat that most dogs find strongly appealing.
  • Soft-baked, bite-sized format: The small, soft format makes these easy to feed quickly during training without breaking a dog's focus. They're practical for a treat pouch, easy to break into smaller pieces for smaller dogs or very frequent rewarding, and suitable for puppies, seniors, and dogs with dental sensitivities where harder treats aren't appropriate.
  • Grain-free recipe: Pea flour and milled chickpeas replace grain-based flours — no wheat, oats, or barley. Suitable for dogs on grain-free diets.
  • Made in the UK: Denzel's is a UK-based natural dog treat brand with a strong focus on ingredient quality and transparency.

Feeding guidance

Suitable for dogs from 12 weeks. Feed as a complementary treat or training reward as part of a balanced diet. Suitable for puppies, adults, and senior dogs where small, soft reward treats are appropriate. Always supervise your dog when feeding and ensure fresh water is available.

Note: Contains peanut butter — not suitable for dogs with a known peanut or nut allergy. These treats are grain-free but contain pea flour and chickpeas — if your dog is on a strict legume-free diet, check with your vet before feeding.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep sealed between uses and use by the best before date shown on the pack.

Common questions

Are these actually safe — I thought chocolate was toxic to dogs?
Yes, completely safe. The "chocolate" in these treats is carob, not cocoa. Chocolate is toxic to dogs because it contains theobromine and caffeine — carob contains neither compound. Carob comes from the carob tree pod and is entirely unrelated to cacao. It has a mild, naturally sweet flavour that dogs enjoy, and it's been used safely in dog treats for decades. There is no actual chocolate in this product.
Are these only available at Easter?
These are positioned as a seasonal Easter treat by Denzel's, but the treat itself — soft-baked carob and peanut butter buttons — is practical as a year-round reward treat. Availability depends on Denzel's seasonal production run. If you'd like to be notified when stock is available, contact us at info@hairydogs.co.uk.
Can I use these for training?
Yes — the small, soft format is well-suited to training use. They can be fed whole for a single reward or broken into smaller pieces for higher-frequency rewarding without significantly increasing the calorie load per session. The peanut butter content makes them reliably motivating for most dogs, including those that are less food-focused outdoors.
Are these suitable for puppies?
Yes — suitable from 12 weeks. The soft-baked texture requires minimal chewing effort and is appropriate for young dogs with developing dentition. The small size means they can be fed to puppies without needing to break them down further, though halving them for very small breeds or young puppies is sensible.
