Insect Bites are grain-free dog treats built around insect protein — dried black soldier fly larvae (Hermetia illucens) — combined with potato, peas and fava beans. Insect protein is a genuinely novel protein, which makes these a useful option for dogs that react to more common meats. A tasty, nutritious everyday treat or training reward.

  • Insect protein — the main ingredient is dried black soldier fly larvae, a novel protein source most dogs have never eaten.
  • Novel protein, naturally low-allergen — a useful option for dogs sensitive to chicken, beef or other common meats.
  • Grain free — made with potato, peas and fava beans, with no grains.
  • Naturally nutritious — insects are a natural source of protein and fats, and the recipe includes a vitamin & mineral premix.
  • Lower-footprint protein — insect farming generally uses less land and water than conventional meat farming.

Are insects a good protein for dogs?
Insects are a natural source of protein and fats and are well tolerated by many dogs. Because most dogs have never eaten insect protein, it's a genuinely novel protein — a handy option for a varied diet or for dogs sensitive to common meats. As with any new food, introduce it gradually.
Are they suitable for puppies?
Suitable from 8 weeks. Break larger pieces down for very small dogs and always supervise.
