Hairy Dogs jerky sticks are single-ingredient training treats made to a consistent formula: one protein source, air dried to a pliable jerky texture. Each stick can be fed whole or snapped into smaller pieces for use as training rewards, which makes them practically flexible for sessions where you need different portion sizes without swapping products. Available in Chicken, Tripe, Lamb, Kangaroo, and Venison — sold individually at 75p each, or pick up the bundle if you want to try multiple flavours.

  • Single ingredient per flavour: Each stick contains one protein and nothing else — no additives, preservatives, grain, or fillers. What you see on the label is the entire ingredient list.
  • Training-ready format: At a single-stick size, these work as a whole treat or snap cleanly into smaller pieces for high-frequency training sessions. The jerky texture holds together rather than crumbling, which keeps the session tidy.
  • 80.5% protein across all flavours: A consistently high protein content regardless of flavour — relevant for dogs on high-protein diets or owners who prioritise protein-dense treats.
  • Eco-friendly resealable packaging: Each pack reseals to keep treats fresh between sessions and contains the natural meat scent — useful for indoor storage.
  • Suitable from 8 weeks: The pliable jerky texture is appropriate for puppies from 8 weeks — softer than dried bone chews and easy to portion for smaller mouths.

Common questions

Which flavour should I choose?
For most dogs, Chicken is the safest starting point — it is the most widely tolerated protein. Lamb is a good alternative for dogs with a chicken sensitivity. Tripe (100% beef stomach) tends to be particularly popular with dogs due to its strong scent. Kangaroo and Venison are novel proteins, useful for dogs on restricted diets or elimination protocols where common proteins need to be avoided. All flavours are 75p each, so buying one of several flavours to find your dog's preference is straightforward.
What is in the Tripe flavour?
Tripe is the stomach lining of cattle — the ingredient is 100% beef. It has a distinctively strong smell that most dogs respond to very well, which makes it particularly effective as a high-value training treat. If your dog has a beef or dairy sensitivity, avoid this flavour and try Chicken, Lamb, Kangaroo, or Venison instead.
How do I use these for training?
The stick can be snapped into small pieces with your fingers — the jerky texture holds together cleanly without crumbling. For high-repetition training, snapping a single stick into four or five pieces gives you multiple rewards from one treat, keeping the caloric load in check across a longer session. For a higher-value single reward — end of session, recall training, or a particularly difficult command — the full stick or a half works well.
Are these suitable for puppies?
Yes — suitable from 8 weeks. The pliable jerky texture is soft enough for puppies with developing teeth, and the single-ingredient formula makes them a clean, traceable treat during the early stages when you are monitoring what your puppy eats. Break into small pieces appropriate for your puppy's size and supervise during the treat.
Do these smell strongly?
Natural meat treats have a noticeable scent — particularly Tripe, which has the strongest smell of the five flavours. The resealable packaging contains the odour well between uses. For training, the strong scent is an advantage — most dogs are motivated by smell, and a high-scent treat holds attention better than a biscuit-based reward.
Are Kangaroo and Venison good for dogs with common protein allergies?
Yes — Kangaroo and Venison are novel proteins that most dogs have never been exposed to, making them useful for dogs on elimination diets or those that react to common proteins such as chicken, beef, or lamb. As with any new food, introduce gradually. If your dog is on a strict veterinary elimination diet, always check with your vet before introducing new protein sources.
