Each size is rated for a maximum dog weight — check the weight guide on the pack and choose the size suited to your dog. If your dog is between sizes or a strong puller, size up for a sturdier mechanism.
Using it safely
Retractable leads are best suited to open spaces like parks and fields. Keep the lead locked short near roads, traffic, people and other dogs, and attach it to a well-fitted harness rather than a collar. Avoid grabbing the tape, keep fingers clear of the mechanism, and check the tape and brake regularly — retire the lead if anything is worn or damaged. No lead is unbreakable.
