The Anco Premium Goat Pâté is the smallest format in the range at 200g and the most hypoallergenic option Anco produces. Goat is structurally distinct from beef, chicken, pork and lamb — proteins most UK dogs have been routinely exposed to — which makes it a genuinely useful option for elimination diets or dogs with multiple protein sensitivities. Made from goat meat and offal, grain free, chicken free and suitable from 8 weeks.

  • Genuinely hypoallergenic protein: Goat is not commonly used in commercial dog food, so it's a low-exposure protein for most dogs. Unlike lamb or duck — which appear more often in allergy-focused foods — goat remains largely novel, which gives it value in elimination-diet contexts where other proteins have been ruled out.
  • Goat meat and offal: Made from goat meat, heart, liver and lung — muscle meat plus multiple organ cuts from a single protein source.
  • Versatile format: The same soft-but-firm texture as the 400g range — holds its shape when sliced or diced for training treats, and soft enough for lick mats, Kong-style toys and enrichment surfaces.
  • Multi-buy savings: Buying for a multi-dog household or using it regularly? Look out for our Anco 200g Pâté Mix & Match bundle for multi-buy discounts.

Common questions

Why is goat considered hypoallergenic?
Hypoallergenic means low-allergen potential rather than allergy-proof. Goat is rarely used in commercial pet food, so most dogs haven't developed a response to it — allergic reactions usually build from repeated exposure to a protein over time. Because goat is genuinely uncommon in the UK, most dogs meet it as a novel protein, which lowers the likelihood of a reaction and makes it a clean option on elimination diets once more common sources have been ruled out.
How does goat compare to lamb for sensitive dogs?
Lamb is the most commonly recommended alternative protein in the UK, so many sensitive dogs have already been switched to lamb and may have developed a secondary sensitivity to it. Goat is genuinely less common, making it a more reliably novel option for dogs that have already been through a lamb-based elimination diet — often the next protein to try under veterinary guidance.
How do I use this for training?
Slice a section and cut into small, consistent pieces — the pâté holds together without crumbling. The 200g format is a little smaller than the 400g pâtés but still gives a useful number of training portions per tub. The goat scent is mild but motivating for most dogs.
How long does it keep once opened?
Refrigerate immediately once opened and use within 3 days. At 200g, a single tub is typically used within one to two training sessions, so shelf life is less of a concern than with the larger 400g rolls.
Can I use this to fill a Kong or enrichment toy?
Yes — press it into a Kong-style toy for immediate use, or freeze the filled toy for a longer enrichment session. Particularly handy for dogs on elimination diets, where many standard Kong fillings contain proteins that have been excluded.
